Institute of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics

The main objective of the Institute of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) is to provide all information on absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of new drug candidates as a prerequisite for first study in humans. The institute is the centre of expertise for isotope labelling and the elucidation of the fate of a drug in the organism. These studies provide information on pharmacokinetics, which are together with tolerability and efficacy data necessary for the safe use of our drug candidates in humans. Data on pharmacokinetics are part of the registration dossier.
